Sofia's Tutoring

Hello! My name is Sofia, and I am currently a student at UC San Diego majoring in International Business with a minor in Accounting. I was recently selected as a junior nominee for UC San Diego's Rady School of Management Master of Professional Accountancy (MPAc) Program.

I have over four years of experience tutoring mathematics, working with students from elementary school through college-level courses. In addition to math, I have experience teaching both violin and voice, which has helped me develop patience, adaptability, and the ability to explain concepts in different ways depending on each student's learning style.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading, learning new languages, watching anime, and playing music. I love getting to know my students, and I hope these shared interests can help create a comfortable and enjoyable learning environment. Whether we're talking about books, music, anime, or school, I believe learning is always easier when students feel relaxed and understood.

What I love most about teaching is watching students grow in both their knowledge and confidence. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a concept finally click and knowing I've helped make that happen.

When I was younger, I always wished I had a tutor who supported me not only academically, but as a person as well. That experience has shaped the kind of tutor I want to be. My goal is not only to help students succeed in the subjects they are studying, but also to create a supportive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions, building confidence, and reaching their full potential. I hope to be someone my students can rely on and trust throughout their educational journey.
