Jennifer L. says, "Our daughter had college goals in which every point mattered - on her GPA and ACT. We looked at several options for test prep and Joyee had a very no-nonsense, personalized approach. We saw an eight-point increase on her ACT which contributed to not only early acceptance, but a scholarship at a prominent UC school. If results matter, call Joyee. I don’t know how he does it, but he did. Proud of them both." Read more

Corey K. says, "As a mathematician, I know and appreciate a personalized approach to learning mathematics. We hired Mike to help us augment our efforts as well as go beyond what our son is learning in school (1st grade). Our goal is to help our son learn and love mathematics and explore its wonders beyond the unfortunate school curriculums. Mike's experience in tutoring and knowledge of mathematics has been compelling. He is also very patient and has lots of tricks up his sleeve in order to ensure a personalized learning experience. I recommend him to anyone who not only wants their kid to improve on what they are required to learn at school (which is a lot of the boring stuff) as well as get introduced to things that can really get them to engage the subject." I'm a semi-retired software engineer. My experience covers a wide range of the software development spectrum. I worked for decades as a senior and leading software engineer in many hi-tech companies. Over the past few years, I have literally helped tens of Computer Science/Software Engineering students ranging in grade from very young, 7-8 year old, students whose parents wanted to learn programming to PHD students. I also helped many middle and high school math students, especially with Algebra. It gives me a great pleasure and satisfaction watching my students grow and advance in knowledge and competence in the subject matter being covered.

Throughout my years in school, I really enjoyed learning and teaching mathematics. I would always study my lessons enough to the point where I could comfortably teach them to someone else - this led to me taking on multiple positions as a K-12 Math Tutor. In the six years I have been tutoring math, the most enjoyable moment is seeing my students come to understand something they did not quite understand. I think the best part of the job is when I hardly need to make any corrections because that is how I know my students will do well. I see this as a win-win situation!

I emphasize that there is clearly a difference between “doing the math” versus “understanding the math”. I help students understand that math is a progressive learning experience. As the student advances his/her math studies I show how follow on courses expand on the basic formulas and theorems to solve more complex problems applicable to the real world of science. I believe in a traditional approach to math. The student needs to understand each basic theorem and formula and view it as a tool for problem solving. I provide outlines and study guides on those theorems and formulas that the student must know. About 2/3 of course material is ...

Dang is a wonderful tutor!! My daughter was really struggling in IB Math and he helped her be successful! He was prepared ahead of time, flexible, patient, and so supportive. For all levels of math he will help you or your student grow. Dang did a wonderful job reviewing basics and building up math literacy for learners. He’s also fun and kind which makes learning difficult concepts more enjoyable.

Mrs. Bradarich is a natural born teacher. My children went to the same school (Carden Academy) where Mrs. Bradarich taught for many years. My children have expressed how deeply they appreciate the education they received at Carden Academy. They have also mentioned that many of their college professors and employers have commented how impressed they are with their obtained knowledge. It is a basic education that Mrs. Bradarich can deliver. Sadly, Carden Academy is no longer. I observe the weak education that my grandson (Tyler) is currently receiving; therefore, I asked Mrs. Bradarich to tutor him. What progress Tyler has made in Math, Language, Composition, and Cursive Handwriting! His confidence is improving, as well as his attitude towards school in general, as he experiences success. He loves Mrs. Bradarich, he loves to learn...he is happy, and I am, too!
