About

Hello! I am an 19 year old college student who is extremely passionate about learning and teaching! I am currently a Pre-Physical Therapy at McNeese State University.

I provide a unique 1-on-1 connection with the kids I teach; I love getting to know each student individually, catering to their strengths, and getting personally involved with each student I work with. Each student deserves to love learning as much as I do, and I believe that the key to that is understanding the process.

Frequently asked questions

I always ask a variety of questions about the student to get to know them on a personal level at the beginning of our time together. Many of these questions are to learn what a students learning style is (visual, auditory, kinesthetic, or a mix of 2 or all 3.) For long term students, I then judge where they are with their math skills with a few example at their level of math.
I currently am a college student, so I understand the K-12 education system on a personal level. I have been tutoring people since 2018, and started online tutoring 2019.
I can do lessons on FaceTime, Skype, or Google Hangouts at different times throughout the week! I charge $30 an hour for math and ELA sessions, and $40 an hour for my SAT Prep.
I started by tutoring my sister and her friends when they needed help. While doing this, I found that I had a natural ability to teach! I am hoping to provide students with an opportunity to not just be good at school, but to learn to love it as much as I do!
I have worked with some students who are just wanting to learn more advanced skills, to students with difficulty retaining information, and everything in between!
I was recently working with one of the honors Algebra 1 students at my former high school, and she was clueless as to what was going on because the teacher moved at a pace that she could not fully absorb all of the information. I explained it at a pace comfortable with her , and her eyes lit up with excitement when get got a problem right on her own. It was honestly amazing to watch.
Find somebody who with cater to you or your student. A major red flag, in my opinion, is somebody who tells you that there is only one way to something.
What is the number one thing that my teacher can help with that would help me? Am I willing to put in the work to improve?
