About

I have tutored, been a TA, and been a high school teacher so I have experience in many different ways. I will get to know you as a student and work with you on developing a plan that meets your needs.

I love math! But more importantly, I love sharing my love of math. Everyone is capable of learning and understanding math, some people just need a little more support. I enjoy watching someone gain confidence in their abilities and become more open minded towards math.

Amanda was amazing! Oh my gosh she saved my life in calculus I wouldnt have stood a chance without her. Shes super professional and prepared, and only interferes when you ask her to, allowing you to try and reach the answer yourself and helping you along the way when necessary. I am so grateful I found her, I highly recommend her for all of your future math needs!

I go to a private school where my teachers are presumably highly qualified and very good at teaching, however I can never really seem to learn from them efficiently. Amanda however can teach me how to do certain topics in pre calc that Im totally confused on and get me going in 5 minutes. Im grateful for her help and would recommend her help to those seeking it.

    Frequently asked questions

Determine the goals of the student and develop a plan together of how we are going to get there.

Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Statistics.

2 years tutoring college students at UNR.

1 year as a TA for dual enrolled high school students.

3 years as a High School Math Teacher.

I am open to what works best for the student.

My love of math and ability to explain math to others got me into the teaching field. My tutoring job in college made me realize that teaching was what I wanted to do and ever since then I have pursued a career in education. I became a teacher because of my love of math, but stayed because of the connections I was able to make with students as I watched them learn and grow into a better version of themselves.

All types! From college athletes and advanced honors students, to students in a low income community with little means and family support.

What are your goals as a student? Why do you have those goals? Why have struggled in the past?

These questions help your teacher get to know you and figure out a starting point to help you.
