About

As someone who has always loved doing math, it makes me so happy to see people not only learn how to do it, but to actually fully understand the concepts as well. I have tutored for a professional company (Mathnasium) in recent months and have been able to assist a few of my friends raise their math test scores from nearly a zero to an A grade within just a few weeks. I believe that practice makes perfect, so I will provide as many examples, tips, and practice problems as I can in order to help math become a friend rather than an enemy.

I just love seeing people actually get to enjoy Math. Being able to understand the purpose and reasoning behind concepts really helps the subject become less frightening. Above all, it makes me happy to be able to share my passion for the subjects with others.

I had a great experience with K-12 math tutoring! The tutor was quick to respond with any questions, and was clear and efficant with aiding me in in subjects Ive been struggling with for years, until now, such as algebra and geometry! I would whole-heartedly record K-12 Math Tutoring to anyone in need of help with almost any subject.

    Frequently asked questions

I like to ask the student where they see a lack of understanding about something. That way, I know exactly what kind of practice and examples will be helpful to them. I know math can seem really complicated or menacing to some people, so I really focus on keeping positivity within lessons and walk along side them each step of the way until they feel confident about the subject matter.

Throughout middleschool and highschool, I was always two years ahead in math. I took IB Calculus in highschool and took the IB exam with a passing score. I took Calculus again in College and passed with an A grade. I am currently enrolled in Calculus 2 at my college, but also have much experience in Chemistry and Physics.

I personally don't see a need to have any sort of "outrageous" price so I charge about $20 or less per session. I consider math a necessary thing that everyone should be able to learn, not something only the wealthy can afford to be taught. I will do my best to keep my prices low, for coming from a relatively low-income family, I understand that money can be tight.

Ever since I started highschool, my friends and parents kept telling me that I was super good at explaining math. My mother urged me to become a tutor, which I finally did my first year of college. I helped my friends with the concepts the struggled to understand, and now I would like to expand my expertise to help guide students with other concepts as well.

I have worked mostly with highschool students, but having with worked with kids for several years at my church I feel able and willing to assist students of younger ages as well!

I think the most important thing is to look for someone who will be most beneficial to your personal learning style. If you need humor to be able to help you learn, then I think it is important to seek out someone who uses humor for their lessons. As the student,  your personality and learning style should help determine what you look for in a tutor.

What do I not fully understand?

Do I know how to apply this concept in a problem?

Do I understand the purpose of this technique?

Am I able to do assignments on time or am I struggling?

How long do I have before a test to practice this technique?
