Frequently asked questions

When working with a new student I like to do a short consultation either over the phone, on zoom or through a digital check in sheet to see if we would be a good fit. I like to get an idea of what your student needs in terms of motivation, learning styles and general academic support.

I've taught elementary after school classes independently after a thorough training focused on Social Emotional Learning and taken a month long intensive class where I worked with third graders on math, english, and some brief chess games :)

Feel free to reach out if you'd like a more in depth resume.

As I'm a current student I charge $25 an hour with a free consultation prior to scheduling.

I've always enjoyed working with kids, I started out babysitting when I was 13 and then at 14 I was volunteering at a youth rock climbing center. At 15 took an intensive class on mentoring third graders before (through a local children's museum and elementary school) I independently taught a summer class on reading to 10 incoming third graders.
I keep up my skills at interacting with kids at my part time job at Magic in the PNW as a birthday party princess while consistently upholding a 3.9 GPA along with being ranked 8th in my class.

I've worked with a wide variety of elementary school students including students with ADHD and other special needs. I myself am a neurodivergent learner who understands the diverse needs students have and I prioritize inclusivity and success regardless of a students ability or disability.

When I was in 9th grade I took a month long intensive course where I mentored a third grader 3 days a week for 2 hours. Aside from working on math and english with her, their class was learning chess. As an avid player myself I had so much fun playing chess with her and witnessing her growth and better understanding of the game over the course of the month.

To any students, parents, guardians or teachers looking for an elementary school tutor I fully encourage you to find a tutor who's the right fit for your child's learning style, needs and personality. In all of my tutoring sessions I prioritize the student's goals and work to support them where they're at and helping them get to where they want to be.
