I am a current PhD student at the University of Washington studying mechanical engineering, focusing on ocean acoustics. I have 2 years of previous tutoring experience in mathematics and computer programming. I am passionate about learning and assisting others in their academic journey. My goal is for students to not only learn about their subject of interest, but to develop a passion and curiosity for learning!

Hello! My name is Katie. I have a double Bachelors of Science in Cellular/Molecular Biology and Paramedic Medicine, a Minor in Chemistry and a Doctorate in Medicine. I am available to tutor Chemistry, Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Basic Physics, and math up to Algebra. I offer in person (region limited) and remote tutoring. I am relatively new to tutoring (since 2023), but I love helping people understand science and math! I’m also very ADHD, and can relate to anyone struggling with this as well!

I am willing to take the extra mile and help when students truly need a helping hand. There is much more to learning that getting good grades and I believe that one should nurture natrual curiosity in a student, no matter the age. Only then can a student grasp a concept beyond the grade and apply it to their living situations. I enjoy the great challanges that a student faces and the spark in one's mind once they figure it out. Seeing a student not only enjoy but seek harder problems and ask the big "why's" is the reason learning is so fun for me.
