I do my best to explain biological concepts in a way that is easy to understand. There is a vast amount of information that biology courses cover. Therefore, I find it important to teach the material using specific methods that maximize a student's ability to retrive that information in the distant future. I have a master's degree in biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor's degree in biological sciences from Rutgers University. Throughout that time, I learned nearly each biological sub-topic extensively. ... View Profile
I graduated Staten Island Technical High School in June of 2015. I am currently attending Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at the City College of New York. My favorite subject was always, and still is, mathematics. The art of being able to come to one concrete correct answer, regardless of your approach to a problem, has always left me awestruck. I had been working with a tutoring institution since the beginning of 2016, and that is where I learned of my passion for tutoring. Anybody can be good at school. Everyone learns the same material, but in different ways, affecting how much one is able to retain what they have learned ... View Profile

Hi everyone! My name is Ronnie Li, and I'm a current PhD Student in Neuroscience at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. I have been teaching and tutoring since I was a sophomore in high school, and I've loved every moment of it. I love getting to know my students on a personal level, so that way I can break down the material in ways that are tailored towards their interests and hobbies. I am also very creative; I often give unconventional homework assignments to my students such as writing a song about a topic in biology, but I have always found that doing so helps them retain the information better. I graduated from Brown University in 201 ... View Profile
I have tutored many classes, ranging from college algebra to graduate-level restricted electives like cancer biology. All of the classes I have listed are still familiar to me (taken within the last two years) and I have received a grade of A (or equivalent). My teaching style focuses on both learning the material from multiple angles and testing how well the student can apply that material. Testing is a major hurdle and one of the main things it checks is the confidence-level of the student. Many times, you will see options in questions that seem very similar, or just plain confusing looking questions as a whole. My plan ideally tries ... View Profile
