Karen L. says, "My daughter had to write a pre-algebra test in a few days and I was concerned she was struggling. I contacted SoFlo online, expressed my concern and in spite of the tight schedule they moved things around to accommodate my daughter. I witnessed the session and it’s the best thing since sliced bread. I love the teaching method, and that my daugher was offered multiple methods to solve the same problem. I recommend SoFlo highly!" Greetings! Do you or your child have a challenging relationship with mathematics? Well then, you've come to right place! There's nothing worse than the feeling of struggling with a subject and math is a particularly sore spot for many students. My philosophy is that a great deal of this frustration stems from not understanding the "why?" behind the ideas (not just the "how?"). I aim to help students to not only vastly improve their math proficiency but also to develop their understanding about why the topics at hand may be important in their lives. After all, it's much more difficult to be excited about a topic that appears to have no releva

Hi! I’m Miguel, a Carnegie Mellon grad and current mechanical engineer at Amazon. I specialize in math, engineering, and standardized test prep tutoring. As a student with ADHD, I know how tough it can be to stay focused and keep up. I’ve learned strategies that helped me succeed—and I’d love to share what works and help you find your own path, too. I started tutoring back in college and absolutely loved helping others build confidence and clarity. I'm getting back into it now because I miss the joy of seeing students succeed. Whether you're looking to boost scores, untangle tricky math problems, or just need someone who gets the struggle,

With a Master’s in CS and Math from the University of Washington and over a decade in the tech world. I’m passionate about helping high school kids who feel lost in subjects like Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, or Statistics—I’ve got a knack for turning confusion into ‘aha!’ moments. I also prep students for AP exams (AP Computer Science Principles and AP CSA) and tutor Chemistry and Biology, making tough topics click with clear, patient explanations. I prefer 1:1 sessions because I love tailoring my approach to each student, helping them boost grades and confidence. I’ve seen struggling kids light up when they

My situation was unique. I had serious epileptic seizures during high school resulting in multiple brain surgeries and a long, challenging recovery. Matt entered my life during this time; I still had assignments to complete before graduation and an impending SAT exam, so I met with Matt twice a week and learned the essential concepts of writing and reading comprehension. While math was my strong suit, Matt helped me identify some earlier math concepts that needed refreshing. My initial SAT score prior to my relationship with Matt was 1260, but, after tutoring, I received a 1510 and was accepted by my school of choice for pre-med studies. I continue to meet with Matt two or three times per week during my undergraduate studies for more advanced writing strategies. I cannot imagine a better academic mentor than I have found with Matt.

Chris Morris-Lent has helped my kids with everything from Pre-Calc and AP World History to ACT/SAT prep. He has a unique skill set with expertise in a wide range of subjects, along with the flexibility to alter his teaching style to best suit the student. He teaches not only academic subjects but also test-taking and studying strategies to streamline the students’ workload and improve test scores. Chris has a very relaxed style, with professional, high standards (in both business and tutoring).
