TRUE Learning
About
I am fulfilled when I can help students to learn new skills, understand information, and know which techniques to use to apply their knowledge.
Working together with the learner to find their strengths and achieve their learning goals is especially rewarding.
I am a compassionate, patient teacher with a love of learning and a desire to help others find the same spark.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I spend a preliminary evaluation session talking directly with the student to discuss goals, issues, learning styles, motivation and methods. Then we work together to create a working plan for our sessions, with a timeline and goal check points.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Parks, Recreation and Leisure Services, which includes libraries, community services, master planning, and group and independent learning.
I also have a decade's worth of experience working with Adult Literacy Learners and their tutors. I researched, designed, implemented, and taught a variety of programs, methods, and teaching materials.
As a parent, community member, and classroom volunteer, I have spent several decades working with small groups and individuals. I often did original research and development to meet the needs of just one person or a small, highly individualized group.
I am continually learning in many areas to improve my personal knowledge and skill set.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $20 per hour, including the initial intake session. This hourly rate includes my preparation time, and a weekly check-in to review the learner's practice.
