Keagan B.

Levi was a great help to me. He helped me with Algebra and is very patient and kind. He makes sure you really understand what you are struggling with before you move on. He is fun and easy to work with! He’s not in a hurry and will take the time you need to really understand. I highly recommend him.” – Keagan Brown. 14 years old. 9th grade.

Frequently asked questions

First I want to communicate with the student and find out what kind of help they need. If I think I can help, I'll ask for a piece of their homework to review and study. This can be done through email before I charge my clients anything.

I have a bachelors degree in middle level math teaching from WGU and I've been a math/science teacher for a small private school for almost 2 years. I've tutored students before and I love working one-on-one or with a small group.

My price per session is $30 for a half hour. The initial contact and time it takes to prep for the sessions is no charge.

I was in an automotive program in my hometown and realized I wanted to do something different. I wanted to reach kids and help them, teach them something valuable, and serve to help them get to their goals .

I've worked with elementary, middle school, and high school students. They have been from various ability levels. l.

During my final project before graduating with my teaching certificate and bachelors, I had a group of 6 students who I got to know pretty well. The relationships we built and the progress we made just confirmed that this is what I'm supposed to do with my life. I had a great time working with them and celebrating with a pizza party when we got our work done.

I would advise students looking for a teacher to look for someone who cares about their success and who they can get along with. Personable people make work easier.  You also want someone who is professional which means they're on time and prepared with what can help you.

Students should try to identify questions that are blocking their understanding. It's helpful to develop some self-reflection that helps to identify areas of understanding that need work. It would also be helpful for students to identity the best way they learn (hands on, visually, reading/writing, or auditory). Students should also start asking what sources of information they can rely on (teachers, peers, textbooks, or websites).
