My boy was asking about the session every day and after was learning more on his own about marine life, dinousars, and other animals. The classes have captured his attention. I rated StudentCircle highly for Professionalism and Subject Expertise. I also appreciate that the cost is reasonable compared with other individuals I chatted with. Thank you! We will be continuing in the Fall." Read more

I am current graduate student in an elementary education program at Sacred Heart University. I have 4 plus years of experience teaching students academically at the elementary level (grades K to 6). I understand that students do not learn at the same pace or in the same way. I always plan lessons and intervention by the most appropriate learning approach for each individual student. As a tutor I always take time to familiarize myself with students as an individual. I make sure that academic work aligns with parent requests. Most importantly, I always encourage students so they feel confident in their academics as their tangible results progr

My service is focused on the creation of personalized tutorial sessions for each person. Not all the people has the same way of learning and find the one which fits with you is part of my task. My classes are focused on conversation and practice in terms of language. The repetition and fluency is the goal. Learning is part of the process but we don't have to get stuck with unnecessary terminology.

I was formally trained as a writing consultant and writing tutor at University of Washington. During my tenure as a UW tutor, I studied several tutoring frameworks and theories. Over the 4+ years, I took what I felt were the best-of-the-best and implemented them into my daily tutoring practices. In my approach to tutoring, I place a strong emphasis on building foundational skills in academic reading and writing, guiding students to develop critical thinking, and helping them integrate personal analysis and unique prose into their work. I believe that these skills form the backbone of a successful academic journey and empower students to exc

My situation was unique. I had serious epileptic seizures during high school resulting in multiple brain surgeries and a long, challenging recovery. Matt entered my life during this time; I still had assignments to complete before graduation and an impending SAT exam, so I met with Matt twice a week and learned the essential concepts of writing and reading comprehension. While math was my strong suit, Matt helped me identify some earlier math concepts that needed refreshing. My initial SAT score prior to my relationship with Matt was 1260, but, after tutoring, I received a 1510 and was accepted by my school of choice for pre-med studies. I continue to meet with Matt two or three times per week during my undergraduate studies for more advanced writing strategies. I cannot imagine a better academic mentor than I have found with Matt.
