About

I am a rising sophomore and Molecular and Cell biology major and Data Science minor on the pre-medical track at UC Berkeley. My passion for science runs very deep, including my particular interest in biomedical research and academic writing. I am also fascinated my mathematical concepts and the Spanish language.

Students I have tutored in the past through other online platforms have stuck with me for the whole academic year, and their grades have increased significantly. I encourage students to think methodically and apply several strategies to their learning process. I focus on teaching techniques and understanding the bigger picture, and applying that to their homework and classwork so they can be self-reliant in the future. To emphasize, I only tutor *remotely* as I travel frequently.

Frequently asked questions

The first session is a get-to-know-you (and your classes) session, where I learn about my students' general lives. I make sure to ask for the students' preferred pronouns and whether they have any learning differences as to build a comfortable environment for them. I make sure to ask about themselves, such as their hobbies, passions, sports, and favorite classes, and why they like those aspects of their lives. I ask about what teachers inspire them, and how those teachers achieve that level of understanding. I also ask them what their least favorite subjects in school are, and why they dislike them/ have consistent struggles in those classes. With these notes, I can better help the student.
I am a rising sophomore at UC Berkeley and have tutored California high schoolers in mathematics (Trigonometry, Pre-calculus, Algebra I and II)
I will price my sessions based on how many subject areas the student needs help with. I will charge at least $25 per hour.
At my former high school with the Peer Tutoring program.
I have tutored high school boys and girls. I have volunteered at places that deal with all ages, from children in museums to the elderly in hospice centers.
A student should find a teacher who seems to really cater to their needs, and someone who is willing to pace themselves to the student. It is important to benefit the student as much as possible rather than focusing on their own personal gain.
Students should first reflect on their work, highlight their weak areas, and then find any commonalities between those areas. They must ask how their teacher may help them with those weak concepts. Even asking for help on homework and class work are viable options, as that may help students realize their strong and weak areas in the subject. It is a teacher's job to help their students, so a student should never be afraid to ask for help!
