About

I graduated from George Mason University in 2023 where I majored in Computer Science along with Pre-Medicine. From my college years, I received multiple Dean’s List in multiple semesters, where students get this award as their GPA is above or equal to 3.5 in that particular semester. During my college years, there were many classes where I had trouble understanding the content, and there were times where I wanted to understand how the theory I learned applied to the real world. My pathology and anatomy professor helped me understand these topics very well by referencing from his experience as a physician. This goes the same with computer science courses, where instead of boring lectures of theories, most professors demonstrate how these theories work on a computer and we get to experience them by programming those theories on computer projects.

Not only have I learned the content, but the way professors teach also taught me how to teach. I first became a tutor at my college in the Fall of 2021 as a Learning Assistant, which is basically an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant, and I taught General Chemistry 1 and 2; simultaneously, I was also a math tutor at the math tutoring center. In both of my experiences, it taught me that most students learn how to work through the problem without understanding what was going on in the class. For example, there were times where students would randomly use equations without understanding the problem nor the concept. Hence, I created recitations as a Learning Assistant to first teach the theory, then describe how those theories apply to the real world, like medicine. Even in math, many equations can be applicable to many topics, such as economics, physics, chemistry.

Math, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science (Java, C, and Python), and Biology are the major topics that I hope to teach, because all of these topics are my favorite topics and the ones I have most experience with teaching, and I hope that students would have a better understanding of the topic that they struggle with.
