Ever since middle school, I have always had fellow classmates coming to me for help in math and science classes. I have been tutoring ever since. My tutoring style focuses on having a strong foundation and learning the basics, and growing from there. I help my students truly understand material, not just memorize it.

I am currently an Actuary, but come from an engineering background. I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2017 with degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics as part of the Texas A&M University Honors Program. I am currently pursuing a Master's degree at Columbia University in Actuarial Science.

I greatly appreciate the time and consideration you have in hiring me as a tutor. Please reach out to me with any questions you may have. I hope to be of assistance in helping you/your student reach your goals.

You simply cannot underestimate the importance of a good teacher. I grew up in a military family - by the time I graduated high school, I had been to 11 schools across the country. When I was in 6th grade, I had a math teacher who taught in a way that was different than anything I had ever experienced. He fostered a deeper understanding of the material than simply what was being tested, encouraged us to love the learning process, and taught us how to think outside of the box. Many of the tips I learned in his class carried with me all the way through my engineering degree, and still help me today. I hope to provide this same experience for my students.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I like to start off with a phone call to discuss the individual student's specific needs and goals. I tailor my style to these goals, depending on if you are looking for exam prep, homework help, or gaining a deeper understanding of material in general.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have several years of tutoring experience, both formally and informally.
