I love math, and I want to help students love math, too! Over the last ten years or so, I have tutored my children, their friends, other family members, and my friends' children. Through this experience, I have found that students often know more than they realize because math can be intimidating, or they are making small mistakes that derail their confidence but can be easily corrected. Sometimes they just need someone to explain it in a way that makes sense to them. When that "click" happens, there is no better feeling! I help students understand math concepts in creative ways tailored to the areas I find that they are struggling, and help them build the confidence they need to succeed. If a student continues to struggle, I have plenty of hints and tips in my toolkit to further assist them in improving their math skills and confidence. Student success is my goal, but if a student gains an appreciation, or dare I say, love, for math then that is all the better!
