I have a sincere passion for the success of my students and would love the oppertunity to help you excel in your class(es)! I gaurentee to engage you in your STEM courses because they truly are beautiful subjects that can take you far in life.
I am a first year medical student at GW and graduated from George Mason University with a major in Neuroscience.
I am able to tutor in many science subjects such as Chemistry, Biology, Physics as well as Math courses including Algebra I or II and pre-calculus. I have been tutoring in science subjects at the high school and college level for the past 4 years. I also am a volunteer tutor at a local shelter were I help students in all subjects ranging from 3rd to 12th grade.
I love being able to share my passion for education with students. Not only do I enjoy sharing my knowledge, but I appreciate the challenge that comes with working with each student and catering to their specific needs.
Sahar is extremely kind and the best tutor I have ever had! She makes the concepts easy to understand and approaches them in a step by step way which makes them less intimidating!
Sahar is amazing and has helped my daughter tremendously. Her understanding of key physics concepts has greatly improved. Sahar’s approach to tutoring is thoughtful and student-centered.
Sahar is very knowledgable and easy to work with. She helped me with General Chemistry last year and this year with Organic Chemistry. I highly recommend working with her if you are struggling in science classes.
Good experience East to work .
First off, I cover my experience with the subject and offer the best way to approach that particular subject. Next, I ask the student about the areas they need the most help with. If there are many knowledge gaps, I would ask them to rank the top 3 topics so we can start there. I would also be sure to match the pace of the student because I want to make sure they are able to follow along with the content.
I have worked as a Learning Assistant for Organic Chemistry for 3 semesters at my University. I have also tutored students at a local shelter in math, science, and history for almost every grade level. I have also worked as a STEM educator for the Children's Science Center for about 2 years. In addition, I have conducted Girl Scouts workshops for Engineering and Science badges.
I have a standard rate I charge per hour, but I am willing to discuss price adjustments if needed. I know this is a hard time for everyone and I would like to be as accomodating as possible.
I started teaching my cousin math when I was in middle school and since then my passion and impact have grown.
I have worked with students from elementary school all the way to college. I also have experience working with students with learning disabilities.
An event I am fond of is how everyone came together during this pandemic at the clinic I work at. I have never seen so many people be so self-less and the doctors I have worked with will forever inspire me to act in the same manner.
Make sure you are comfortable with the tutor. You should be able to tell your tutor to slow down or reiterate concepts because it is about you succeeding in your class!
What teaching style do you prefer and how often do you think you would need help during the week?
