Jordan Online Tutoring For Elementary Students
About
I recently graduated with a Music Education Bachelor's, k-12 Teaching Certification in Michigan and plan on getting my Elementary Education Master's this year at University of Virginia. I am a friendly, caring, determined and hard-working teacher who is really strong in differentiating information according to each student. I believe that each student learns differently and my goal is to help them excel through that.
I spent my college summers substitute teaching at Elementary Schools for 2-3 months at a time. That experiences put in in long and short term positions with every grade K-6. I also experienced during this time Art, Music, PE, ESOL and Special Ed. This was ultimately the best experience to prepare me for teaching since I was exposed to all this grades material and core lessons. After my associate teaching semester in a General Music classroom I long term substitute taught in a third grade classroom for 3 months. I taught all core subjects during this time where I got to practice differentiating material to students, lesson planning, explaining difficult concepts and working with each individual student's needs. I have taken 2 online elementary math course, 1 history course and currently a science course in order to enhance my understanding of these topics for young students.
I spent my student teaching in a general music classroom working with elementary students. I have experience in Music Theater, classical music, choral, jazz, pop and opera. I have have 4+ years of voice lessons, 4 classes in music history, and classes in German, French and Italian vocal diction. I have have taken 4 years of Opera and Music Theater workshops. I was the lead in my college and town theaters for the shows Baby, Cabaret, Rock of Ages and Footloose.
