About
I explain the material in a clear and easy to understand way. I walk students through all the steps involved. I make sure that my students thoroughly understand the concepts and can solve the problems they encounter whether it be on their tests, quizzes, homework, etc.
I teach chemistry, physics, and physical science at North Central Missouri College where I am a full-time faculty member. I teach both on-ground and online classes.
I teach and tutor online so I am available to tutor students in all parts of the US.
I have over 20 years of teaching and tutoring experience at the college and high school levels.
I really enjoy seeing my students have a "lightbulb" moment when they understand and master a difficult or otherwise confusing topic.
Many of my former students have advanced to successful careers. I truly feel fulfilled when they reconnect with me and tell me how much they have benefitted from my help.

The student or student's parents contact me and I will respond promptly to setup a mutually convenient time for tutoring. I strive to accommodate "last-minute" tutoring requests, but it is always a good idea to contact me sooner rather than later.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I teach full time at North Central Missouri College. I teach the following courses:
Introduction to Chemistry, General Chemistry 1 and 2, Organic Chemistry 1 and 2, Introduction to Physics, College Physics 1 and 2, General Physics 1 and 2, and Introduction to Physical Science.
I have a M.S. degree in chemistry from UCLA and a B.S. degree in chemistry from UC Berkeley.
I have written a review book for AP Physics and have been a contributing author in Barron's MCAT Prep book.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I was a peer-tutor at UC Berkeley during my senior year.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all types of students: middle school, high school, traditional and non-traditional college students, and adult learners.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I really like doing demonstrations for my on-ground chemistry classes. My favorite demonstrations are the thermite reaction and "whoosh-bottle". Those really excite my students.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Try to be as specific as possible when communicating with a teacher.
