What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Message or speak on the phone about the course material, and learnign style of student.
Schedule initial meeting to discuss plan for the semester, topics and questions on the material, and further scheduling.
Continue to mantain relationship through text, phone calls, and emails about meetings and topics.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's degree in Physics and a minor in Math from James Madison University.
I have been tutoring professionally for 5 years.
I have completed multiple tutor training programs such as at the Math and Science Learning Center at JMU, at C2 Education in Alexandria, as well as at Study Sparkz in Fairfax, and through WyzAnt Academics in order to tutor for those companies
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I typically charge $60 and hour.
However I have breaks in my price for weekly repeating sessions, and sessions longer than 1 hour
How did you get started teaching?
I started by helping classmates understand the content in high school, worked as a tutor in college, and have been workign full time tutoring since graduation.
What types of students have you worked with?
All types! All learning styles from excellent students looking to get straight A's, to non-math minded majors, to students with disabilities, I have worked with in the past
