About
I have worked as an assistant teacher for ESL (English as a Second Language) and volunteered as a tutor in both regular and AP subjects throughout my high school years. I am very interested in education, and I have spent lots of time studying different education systems and teaching methods, both within the United States and abroad. I believe that every single student has a different way of learning and processing information, so it is important for them to develop their own studying habits and learning methods. That is why I want to be a tutor - so that I can help students discover their ideal way of learning. I am a determined and dedicated person that wants to help others. I have experience tutoring and working with students that are struggling to grasp difficult material and concepts. I am a social and outgoing person who works well with others, and I will try my best to help students succeed.
I genuinely love to learn, and it's one of the main reasons that I continue to tutor, so I want to help other students discover their love of learning and get excited about school/college. They should enjoy what they're studying and be able to understand the practical implications of it.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I begin by assessing any problem areas the student may have. Normally the parents/student have a general idea of what they're having trouble with, but I work to narrow it down by working through pre-tests and practice questions on a particular subject in order to identify the exact problem area. Then, we will conduct targeted practice designed to refine skills in that particular area through a combination of online resources, private instruction, and individual work in between sessions.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been tutoring for over five years. I worked as an ESL teacher from 2012-2017. I have also been a test prep tutor for almost three years, specializing in high school- and college-admissions standardized tests. I am equipped with a variety of accessible resources that I am happy to share with the student/their parents.
