What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Start with an understanding of the student's interests, goals, why they would like tutoring, and find out what their current understanding is. This info allows me to customize my teaching style to the student. This can also change as tutoring and the student progresses.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Ph.D. in Physics

M.S. in Physics

B.A. in Physics with Minor in Mathematics

Certificate in Data Science

How did you get started teaching?

Taught and tutored students during graduate school and fell in love with teaching.

What types of students have you worked with?

High School students (Grades 9-12) and College students in introductory physics courses

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Look for someone who is passionate about teaching and Physics/Math. They should want to see you learn and progress, not just reach the end of a lesson. Also, be sure they listen to you and your needs, not teaching you as they do everyone else.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Why are you looking for a teacher?

What are you trying to accomplish?

What are your interests?

Remember, there are no wrong answers to these questions, they just help your teacher in the process.
