Jaxxon's Jaxx Of All Tutoring
About
Hello! I am Jaxxon, and I am a certified Business teacher for Dallas ISD. Besides being a certified Business teacher, I also have an MBA, an MS in Child Development (0-8 years old) and a BA in Special Education. I have a wide range of skills and expertise in which I can tutor.
I love working with children, and can work with students of all needs. I will work with the student's and parents to assess the student's needs, and then prepare curriculum that will align with their school homework and current school work. I will align all work with the Texas Educational Knowledge that they need to pass in order to move forward.
I have a passion to see students succeed. This is my life's passion. Watching your child understand any concept is my passion.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I meet a new student, I will usually sit with the parents to gather information about the specific needs of the students, as well as what the parents feel are the learning styles of their child. I will then meet with the student away from homework in an informal setting to talk about school and current events in their lives. This will help me get to know what is going on with them. After this, I will then ask them to bring me a sample of their best work. Then, we will talk about the challenges they are facing, and how they want to work to get better. Together, we will make goals for their tutoring.
Making goals with the students is how the student actually "buys in" to the tutoring and feels like an active member of their learning environment.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my BA in Education - specifically in Special Education - from Arizona State University (Tempe Campus)
I have earned my Masters in Business Administration from Texas Woman's University (2015)
I have earned my Masters in Child Development from Texas Woman's University (2019)
I am currently a certified Business teacher with Dallas ISD teacher 9-12 grade (5 different classes)
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I do not have a standard pricing. My usual pricing is $35 per half hour for one subject, and up to $90 for an hour, but this is also based on frequency of service, type of service, and how far I may have to drive. I have flexibility with pricing.
I will also tutor throughout the summer, so if you would like to enter into a contract I can offer lower prices for longer terrm contracts.
How did you get started teaching?
Even if I have not formall "taught" in a school district, I have still been in a teaching area. I have taught in companies, or worked with children with special needs. Teaching is my passion though, and I am currently fulfilling that passion.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with children from age 0-19, and all developmental stages of life.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Even though I am a business teacher, I still work with my students on a personal level. My students are dealing with real life events like eating disorders, truancy, jail time, foster care, death in their families, and family deportation.
One of the most recent events that helped solidify why I want to teach was when one of my favorite students came to me, and asked me for advice on how to truly turn his life around. He is a freshman who has been having truancy issues and has been suspended three times this year already. He told me last semester that the only reason he started coming to school on a regular basis was because of my class. Now he is asking for advice on how to approach his other teachers for extra work, and what he can do to apply for dual credits to get into the college prep program. I saw amazing things for this student, he just needed to see it as well.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for a tutor or teacher who is truly looking to meet your needs and your goals. Look for someone who is willing to see you, and not jjust your work. Otherwise you won't remember it the next day.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
How best do I learn?
Am I willing to put in the extra work?
Am I willing to ask for help beyond just my homework?
