The explanation of how to do problems that I did not understand. I love the time and effort that was put in to make sure I was understanding before we moved on to something else.

I Liked How The Teacher Taught Math In a Way I Could Understand

  • Edith Armenta

She was one of the best math teachers I ever had. Her way of teaching was perfect for me to easily understand any lesson. I never had any problems with her. She’s the type of teacher I would recommend to anyone.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

For students with a stronger foundation in math, I typically identify miunderstandings of material being covered in class, modeling solutions and re-teaching lessons when necessary to reinforce student understanding. When working with students experiencing greater difficulty or with a history of difficulty learning Math, I  like to determine the skills and concepts that are most troubling for the student,  and target those weaknesses to increase understanding and student performance  in addition to reviewing and addressing questions regarding content taught in class each week.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Fifteen years of classroom experience teaching 1st, 4th , 6-8th grade math ad well as Algebra 1 and Geomoetry ; Texas Certified Math Teacher, grades 1-8.
