Frequently asked questions

When I first meet with a student, we assess their understanding of the subject and look at where they're struggling. I like to establish connections with my students so that we work well together and have fun doing it! Once we have a baseline each lesson is tailored to the students needs.

I've been a math, science, and foreign language tutor for five years and used to work as a substitute teacher. I've worked with students from 4yrs old to adults. I recently graduated with my B.S. in Marine Biology from Hawaii Pacific University. After college, I was a student teacher at a private elementary school for math and science grades 4-8.

In-person lessons are $35 a session and online sessions are $30.

I do group lessons at a rate of $30/session per person.

Feel free to contact me with any questions about pricing.

I started volunteering to tutor kids at a homework help center when I was in middle school and eventually became a tutor in high school. Once I got to college tutoring and teaching were part of my weekly routine and during summers I taught at a summer camp.

Now I am a substitute and tutor that specializes in STEM and Spanish.

I've worked with students of all ages from diverse backgrounds. The two main groups of students I've worked with are high school and elementary but I have experience with adults and children alike.

Students looking for STEM tutors should look for someone with a strong background in the field they are interested in.
Students looking for foreign language tutors should look for native bilingual speakers.
Regardless of the subject, look for a tutor that has experience teaching and is passionate!

Students should think about the areas they excel at just as much as the areas they struggle in. Knowing how a student learns is just as important as knowing what they know or don't know.
They should also keep in mind what their goals are and be ready to honestly assess their understanding of a subject.
