About
I have a TEFL certificate my background is in broadcast television journalism w a masters from Columbia university in nyc and an mba from Thunderbird. I have been teaching English since 2017 but teaching video journalism on and off since 2005 I can focus on pronunciation and conversation better than most. I started tutoring in 2004. Executives, professionals especially in health care and those who have to do presentations in English are in my area of expertise because I was a medical and general assignments reporter. What do professionals need to succeed in their field? Working on that together with my student gives me great satisfaction.
I love meeting people from all over the world and helping them improve their English. I have travelled extensively to more than 60 countries now and enjoy communicating with others and learning about their culture. I am also a broadcaster so I think phonetics is quite important when learning a language. I speak 5 languages and working on the 6th one.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Find where they are and focus on the area they are interested in. What do they find most valuable? What is most helpful to them? What do they find valuable in what I tutor? This is a listening excercise. Often we project what we want our students to learn and that may not be what they need so I spend time finding out what it is they need and what will help them succeed.
