I look forward to helping you or your child reach and exceed academic goals!
I teach my students the skills required to conquer the areas of study with which they have difficulty. I also focus on building the student's confidence and self-esteem.
There is nothing more rewarding than witnessing a child achieve success. I am here to equip them with the knowledge, skills, confidence, and motivation that allow them to reach their full potential.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I was typically request a syllabus for the course. If this is not available, I will ask for the grade level, subject, and topic/topics that need improvement. If possible, I will ask the parent to contact the instructor(s) in which the student needs assistance. Their input will help me focus the tutoring topics and pacing. Additionally, some teachers like to send extra work/practice home to guide the focus of the sessions.
Next, I was ask for a timeline. Is the tutoring for project or assignment, or is the tutoring to be ongoing? For projects, I will help your child develop a mini-deadline plan, or chunking sections of the project to be completed by specific dates. Learning and mastering this skill will help your child for the rest of their lives.
Then, I will work with the student/parent to create a timeline/plan for the tutoring. The number of times per week I see a student depends on the needs of the student. I recommend having a minimum of 2 sessions per week.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
-History major, Business minor, cum laude honors
-Supplement Instructor for college students
-Former middle school teacher
-Mom
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with a variety of ages and ability levels.
I have enjoyed working with Special Education students of varying ability levels and ages.
I have also worked with students in IB, AP, and Gifted and Talented, and students in college honors courses.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I recommend an in-person consultation. The student and their parent need to make sure they "click" with the tutor. If the student or parent don't like the tutor for whatever reason, the sessions will likely not be productive or effective.
