Sam's Tutoring
About
I am more than willing to help students better themselves in the classroom, at home, and in life. My goal is not only to help your student achieve better grades but also to actually learn something valuable. At school, students are taught to the test and are only concerned about their grade. Here, i can ensure that real knowledge will be shared, only for the sake of knowledge.
I love seeing students begin to realize the importance of their education. It is a good feeling when one begins to feel more knowledgable and positive.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I would spend a few minutes by breaking the ice. I would want the student to feel comfortable. Next, I will establish a basis of what level the student is currently at, so I could better understand what needs improvement. Overall, I will have a discussion with the new student on what they would like to learn, improve on, or get a better understanding on. Only once I have a good understanding then I will proceed with the tutoring.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently a high school senior and I have experienced every type of teacher there is. I have been in public school for eight years and a private school for four. I don't have any direct training for teaching but I do know what a student would want out of their education. After all, I have been a student for my entire life and I know what's good teaching and what isn't.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$10 for every thirty minutes.
How did you get started teaching?
I got interested in teaching when I experience the college application process. There are so many education standards that seem wrong to me. I hope to eventually change those standards into something more reasonable, like actually teaching for the sake of knowledge.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have tutored underclassmen and some of my fellow classmates. Their ages range from 12-17. I am willing to teach younger students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am noticing that more colleges and universities are taking away their mandatory test policies. This pleases me because it makes the decision process more meaningful and true, rather than a process based off of numbers.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure that the teacher you are looking at is trustworthy, knowledgable, and is excited to help you learn.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should not have to think about questions if it concerns their education. Any quesition will better the student, even if it seems to be a "basic" question.
