Michelle Math Tutoring

I'm majoring in education at SMU. I have interned at my younger sister's school, St. Timothy Christian Academy for two years from my junior year to Senior year in high school. I became the lead intern in the second year. I help the students on different areas of their academics everyday, such as math, reading, writing. Since the school is consisted of elementary to high school, I had experiences with students from 1st grade-12th grade.

I love the experience that I get from different kids everytime that I teach. Each of them is very unique, each of them has a different learning style, and it is essential to do my best to teach them in the way that they can fully understand the knowledge. For example, in my sister's math class, she and three girls need to use mathematical "blocks" in order to solve simple math problems like addition and subtraction. In an English class, a student needs me to write out the basic contents/topics whenever the teacher gives out a prompt. For example, if the prompt is "what did you do over the weekend", then I would need to listen to him telling me what he did verbally, then I would write down the things he did one by one, each in a few words. Then he would ellaborate on that afterwards.
