About
I believe very strongly that when students are engaged and interested in what they are doing, they learn better. Because the goal of tutoring is to provide problem-solving skills for the student to become an independent learner, I use lots of active recall and quick little tips and tricks to help students stay active in the lesson. I teach with a passion so that hopefully my students will begin to share that same passion. I have been tutoring for around three years now in both math and english for elementary school to middle school children.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to learn what the student is struggling with, but also what they are confident in. I think building confidence before working on hard topics is a great way to help students be more interested in learning, so I also start sessions with a quick review of what the student already knows. I then move on to topics that are a little more challenging for the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm currently in college and take many math classes, helping me keep my math topics fresh. I also enjoy english and literature, so tutoring in these topics is very refreshing and I'm very passionate when I teach this. I have tutoring in both math and english for around three years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I usually charge around $30 dollars per hour. Depending on certain specifications, this rate may change.
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching when a younger student at my school needed some help in English Grammar and started to build a tutoring service and reputation from there. I very much enjoyed tutoring and teaching, so I decided to keep doing it.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students with ADHD and dyslexia, as well as students who have no care to be in tutoring. I am able to keep attention and keep engagement, as well as get students interested in the topics they are learning.
