About
I am all about finding what works for my students! I have found that learning is never black or white and everyone learns differently. Patience is key!!!
The best part about tutoring and teaching is what I gain through meeting and engaging with these new young brains. One on one time is so critical, not only so I can understand my student but so my student can learn more about themselves as well. I refuse to let anyone see themselves as a failure or incapable. Together, we will figure out what works for you and we will master whatever task is at hand!
I live for the light bulb moment! There's always one point where everything clicks and the student realizes, "Wow, I know what I'm talking about. I understand this, I can do this." That moment is when I as a tutor feel like I haven't failed. My goal is not to get students to remember what they see on a screen or in a textbook, my goal is to get students to care about their work and their growth for themselves.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to have an open discussion with my student prior to beginning any work so I can gauge their interest level. If a student has zero interest in learning something, it becomes apart of my job to make it interesting, even if it's only for THAT test or THAT quiz or assignment. Once I have assessed their interest level, I can figure out how to proceed with the actual lesson. Time is of the essence so scheduling, lesson planning, and relativity (to our outside worlds) comes next. Each student gets their own indidualized lesson plans and we go from there!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In school I was always tutoring my peers, my nieces and nephews, younger siblings, etc. When I was in high school I even tutored some college students. I have always been hungry for knowledge and getting other people to realize its importance has always been a win!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Everything is priced upon discussion!
How did you get started teaching?
I have just literally always loved it. Other kids played dress up and I played teacher.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Follow your gut! As I've said before, everyone learns differently and everyone trying to learn deserves someone who cares just as much as if it were their own child or loved one. As a student, reflect on past times where you felt understood and wanted to learn, wanted to understand, wanted to give your best, etc. Those are the feelings you want when trying to conquer a difficult task.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Remember that we are here for you. We are here to help you succeed. If something is not working for you and the material is not clicking, that's something we need to discuss. I am a fond believer in no dumb questions. All questions have an answer even if the answer is "no" but you won't ever know unless you ask.
