My M.Ed. has allowed me to harness my first love which is helping others understand things that are difficult for them. My ZIP Code says Salem, OR - so if you're in shouting distance and need help understanding math and English concepts or any other subject, let's talk!
I've been training others for 15 years and nothing is more important to me than your success. I will ask you a few questions first because your answers will tell me what you understand so I know where to start working. I am always on the lookout for innovative ways to make English, Math and science easier to learn. I look forward to working with you!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to get to know students by finding out what they like most because it helps me tailor the leaning experience to make it more applicable to their life.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Most recently, I was a substitute teacher for various K-12 subjects including English, science and multiple levels of math.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I want my services to be affordable so, they range from $15 - $45 per hour depending on the grade level and subject.
How did you get started teaching?
I started out as a client in a displaced homemaker program, advanced to the Executive Assistant then became the Training Facilitator of 40-50 clients per week. I've been passionate about learning and training ever since.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with very diverse students from K through adult learners. I have a gift for getting students to think out loud so I can help them connect what they know to what they're learning.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Finishing my M.Ed. facing the pressure of a layoff taught me that education is also about resilience and perseverance.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
When you're searching for a tutor, seek one who has had to persevere in life. It gives them a more patient outlook when you're struggling with a difficult concept.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
1. Be honest about how much time you are giving to your studies - knowledge will not seep into your brain by osmosis.
2. Consider your teacher's teaching style ... if you are not learning the information, perhaps a tutor will help you get clear on the basics which drive real understanding.
