Looking for 'I get it now!' moments in math? I've been helping students achieve those moments while making math fun for over 25 years. I have my masters in Elem. Educ. and have had the privilege of teaching students as a regular education teacher, as a Title 1 math teacher, and as a private tutor.

I love seeing students get excited about math! Math was a struggle for me growing up. As a teacher I'd think, "If I knew then what I know now!" Because of that struggle I love helping kids 'get it' and have fun while they're at it!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I find out where they struggle and go from there. I like to make contact with their classroom teacher, talk with the parent, and of course with the student.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a masters degree in Elem. Educ., have been a classroom teacher for 23 years, and have worked as a Title 1 math tutor.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

$30 an hour for in person if meeting at the library or online. $35 an hour if I come to your home in Pocatello.

How did you get started teaching?

I started teaching second grade back in 1985. I am now retired and use my expertise to tutor students.

I have worked with students in grades K-5.

I have had several students say that I make math fun which was something they didn't expect.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Look for a teacher that can help make the math make sense in real world situations.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Where am I struggling most? How do I learn best? What do I need from the teacher that will help be best make sense of the math?
