Learning Excellence Center (LEC)
About
We teach students with a standard of excellence and with a biblical foundation in mind. Every student who has been taught by LEC has left us with the spirit of success and pride. Several students have been published and gone on to receive scholarships to colleges.
I have home schooled for 18 years. During that time, I graduated my two children and taught approximately 600 other students.
I love teaching students of every age and every grade. I especially love to watch their expressions and excitement as they progress throughout the year. Many students come to me with learning disabilities such as: ADD, ADHD, dyslexia and various other issues. I do receive students who do not have learning disabilities, as well. The most important factor is that every student succeeds with excellence.
I will teach students throughout the school year, and I will tutor, as needed.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I get to know the student. I evaluate what the student feels he or she is struggling. I always start with basic work in the subject I am teaching or tutoring. I assure the student that he or she is going to succeed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The College Board approved me as a Board fellow several years ago due to my experience in teaching SAT and ACT test prep, as well as teaching an English V course I wrote. I am a certified ESL instructor. Over my 18 years as a home-schooling mom, I issued many high school credits for kids which were accepted by the state of South Carolina.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My pricing is based on the subject and the student.
How did you get started teaching?
My son struggled with ADD 18 years ago, and I did not want him on the ADD medication, so I decided it was time to home school.
What types of students have you worked with?
ADD, ADHD, Dyslexic, Depressed, Honors, College Prep, College
Describe a recent event you are fond of.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
i can help. If your desire is to succeed, I can get you there with excellence!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Every question is valid. I have never told a student not to ask a question unless it’s coming from a high school student, and the information is on a hand out I had already given them.
