About
Hello! My name is Rion Brown, and I am a student currently enrolled at Clemson University. Language has always been important to me, and it makes me so happy when I see that little "spark" of understanding within a student. For the past few years, I have worked with many kids on their reading and writing skills. Beginning my freshman year of high school, I started by editing friends' papers. During my senior year of high school, I participated in a class called Teacher Cadet which provided me with the tools necessary to help children reach their highest potential. During that class, I learned classroom management, cooperation skills, and childhood psychology to prepare me to work with students. Over the summer, I have volunteered with Reading Partners, tutoring elementary school children in their reading skills in order to lessen the reading "gap" that occurs in elementary school-aged kids over the summer. Now, I am working with ClemsonHope serving as a one-on-one mentor at a local elementary school. I serve as not only a mentor, but also a tutor and life-long friend for my "buddies". I would love to extend my passion for helping others through tutoring services. Whether that be through essay editing for upper-level kids or reading comprehension skill-building for elementary students, I can't wait to help! Please contact me if you have any questions or need more information.
Witnessing children grasp a difficult concept and make vast improvements in their skillset is why I enjoy the work I do.
