With 20+ years of tutoring kids in Math and helping them build a strong foundation, a clear understanding of various math related problems, I have always strived to make the subject interesting and fun. My focus is aimed at developing a liking for the subject and helping kids perform better. Since I was in college, I used to help kids who had challenges in Math, Languages and other subjects and would help them understand the subject and coach them get better grades.

I come from a long line of teachers who have all had an innate love of learning and ability to share this with children of all ages. I began working with children from infants to preschoolers in high school and worked for the same childcare agency until I graduated from Curry College. My initial degree was in the foundations of education. After a short period teaching adults computer application courses, I returned to school and obtained a Post Baccalaureate in Elementary Education from Bridgewater State College. I am an eighth year teacher serving the needs of students in English and Social Studies. I have experience working with grades 4-11, and focus particularly on scaffolded instruction for all learners. I believe in a personable, whole-student approach to education and use my experiences working in a diverse community to reach every student. I enjoy working with students and seeing them shape their own future through education. I have primarily worked with 6-8th graders and watching them develop their ideaology and work ethic is the greatest gift one could ask for. It is not just a job for me. I consider this my genuine purpose.
