About
I am a teacher with 35 years of teaching experience from elementary school through middle school and high school.I have a masters degree in special education which has given me the additional skills to break down concepts and tasks to make learning easier, and give students confidence in themselves to learn better. Also, I have been teaching and tutoring at the high school level for over 10 years, luckily, my experience from grades 1-12 is invaluable for filling in the learning gaps that many students have and which prevents them from learning properly.
I believe that everyone can learn if given the appropriate supports and time. I truly enjoy working with my students and seeing the joy on their faces when they have accomplished a skill that they hadn ́t been able to before working with me. Learning can be fun! I hope to instill the love of learning in your student if you ́ll allow me to.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to meet the student first and get to know them a litttle before I start working with them. I like to talk to them for 5-10 minutes to help me find out about their school experiences, likes, dislikes, how they learn better. Also, I like to see previous work, worksheets, tests, if possible to see where they are in terms of skills, and how to help them fill in any learning gaps if there are any. Otherwise, I look at the work and proceed from there.
