About

I can confidently say that I know what it is like to learn and to teach in aworld post-COVID 19 because I was a high school student during the pandemic and I have taught in-person and remotely since the pandemic. Teaching has had to change as the world has cahanged, and I am a teacher that embraces that change as it comes and molds my lessons because of it.

I have been tutoring unprofessionally since I was in high school and profesionally tutoring/teaching since the fall of 2021. I have taught and tutored in a range of settings (public high school, privaate high school, early college, etc.), in many different math subjects (algebra I, algebra II, geometry, pre-calculus, etc.), with a variety of students (students who love math, students who hate math, students who don't think math is useful, etc.). What I have gained from all of these experiences is that no student learns the same. It is important for a teacher/tutor to teach their students the way that they need to be taught.

It is my job to help you learn not talk at you and lecture you time and time again. I encourporate mutiple modes of learning into each lesson to help student engage in the material; I teach with culturally responsive pedagogy to help my students relate to the materials; I make math fun and enjoyable!

I am currently in my last month of my bachelors degree in mathematics (focusing in teaching), and I will be pursuing a masters degree in high school education this upcoming school year. I a m going through all of this schooling and doing all of this work because I want to teach. I don't think that many math teachers/tutors teach because they love teaching, and both students and their parents can see that in their lesson plan. I am not that teacher.

I am the type of teacher who cares about a student as a person first and then my student. I care about your well being, and I care about you enjoying your time in my lessons. I want you to learn math, but I also want you to enjoy math. I think that anyone and everyone can be good at math if they have a teacher/tutor who is willing and able to teach them they way that they need to be taught. I am that teacher.
