About

My goal is to help my students have confidence in their English studies. I look to customize each student's lesson with a plan that best works for them. If my student is struggling with a specific text, I plan to read that text in my own time so I am prepared to work with them at the beginning of each session. I believe that the best way to learn is through communication. Our sessions will be discussions, not lectures. I will teach each student how to read and write like a scholar, preparing them for their next level of education.

I recieved my Bachelor of Arts in English from Lebanon Valley College and am currently pursuing my Master of Arts degree at Kutztown University. I have studied American, English, and World literature, African American literature, literature by women, Native American literature, and Gothic literature. I have studied creative and critical writing in both undergrad and graduate school.

I enjoy helping others feel comfortable and confident in their English studies. It is a field I am very passionate about and I love to share that knowledge with others.

I liked working with RWLRT because I was treated with respect and as a peer instead of a student.
One the amazing things I learned was the multitude of hidden meanings in classic literature.

Frequently asked questions

I prefer to contact my students before our first meeting to discuss what they are struggling with and what they hope to achieve in our sessions. If they are writing about or reading a specific text, I would like to know what that text. This will make me more prepared to work with them. I like to know what their teacher is requiring them to do and see their writing rubric and syllabus (if they have either). I like to treat each session as a scholarly discussion rather than a lecture. These sessions should be a place of comfortable learning set up for each individual.
