About
I am a retired college professor. I worked in a college learning lab for 20 years tutoring thousands of students as well as working with small study groups - in the lab and online. I understand students' needs, how to help them to understand and comprehend all the concepts they need. I am very patient and I answer every question. I suggest individual study plans that guides the student to master the material or review prerequisites.
I love to see when my students understand more and are able to solve more problems. Helping others is the best thing one can do.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I ask the student to show me some work she has done. I want to see what she was able to do and where she ran into difficulties. I ask a lot of questions to learn about her background in math and give some advice how to improve understanding. I aim to establish a warm working environment, encouraging questions and comments. I try to learn her study style as fast as I can, to see what methods and approaches will work the best for her. Tutoring must be individualized for the needs of the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a math educator for 40 years on high-school and college level. I taught classes, worked in learning and tutoring facilities and conducted online tutoring. I have a clear understanding what students need after a class or lecture to comprehend and master the material. I help them in a way to make sure they are ready for the next class by increasing confidence, understanding and lower their anxiety level if necessary.
