Elmer Tutoring
About
Due to the fact I am still a student, I am able to give you fresh and relatable tutoring services while also being an effective teacher. I make sure to not just give answers out; rather, I ensure the students understand the topic fully.
I might be new to this site, but I have two years of experience in a professional extra learning center, and I have worked with a wide range of kids from three years old to middle schoolers.
I am a first year undergraduate student at the University of Oregon and Clark's Honor's College. I graduated high school in the top 3% of my class. I have taken 9 AP courses and performed well in those classes alongside many advanced classes throughout my schooling years. I am a proficient writer and have been known to edit essays for students, specifically focusing on their grammar and overall efficiency.
I enjoy working with students and helping others learn! I think a one-on-one approach is a great way to engage students without the pressures of a classroom. I also love watching as they improve in their skills.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I would first get to know their goals and expectations for me as their tutor. Then I would ask them if they need help with general topic understanding or specific problems. I would then look over said problems and work the question out with the student step by step while making sure they understand each detail. However, this process does vary with every student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I worked for two years at an extra learning facility where I would help teachers tutor kids when needed while also grading homework and ensuring smooth class operations. I have worked with many kids from different stages of learning.
I am also still a student, so a lot of topics are not too difficult for me to remember or teach.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Since I am a college student, I do not have any specific system just yet, but I am more than willing to work those details out with my clients.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching when I began my job back in 2018. After that, I have expanded to helping others with their essays.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with three-year-olds just learning the alphabet up to middle schoolers who have just started using different variables in algebra. Also at my work, I have helped students who have some learning struggles. I have also worked with high school students through essay help and other friends with general homework help.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have recently enjoyed exploring Oregon with my friends over the weekends. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking and being with friends in a new place is always extremely exciting and invigorating.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would tell them to find someone they will be comfortable with so that they can best understand that student's needs and accommodate accordingly.
