I love math with every fiber in my being. My goal is show others how fun math can actually be. I have completed math up to college multi-variable calculus. I have help many students in their math class in college and lead them to success. I teach in a way that is unique to every person. I can even get creative witht the lessons to make the math feel more applicable to life.
I love seeing the light bulb go off for a person whrn they understand how to do a math problem. I also love helping people realize that math is not as hard as they think if they just take the time to understand how the math is done.
Kristin made learning math very enjoyable. She has a great sense of humor and is excellent at explaining concepts. If the first way that she explained a concept didn't click with me, she had many other ways that she could explain it, demonstrating her understanding of the material. After working with Kristin, I always came away confident in my understanding of the material.
Kristen is wonderful. She is so kind, intelligent, and incredibly understanding! I was so thankful for her help and patience!
The one on one interaction is very helpful for working out specific problems and getting extra clarification on difficult concepts.
Math is not my favorite subject... at all... but working with Kristen was such a great experience! She is fun, upbeat, never negative and had so many different ways for me to look at a problem. I ended up improving my math grade to an A! Truly a great tutor. 12/10 would recommend.
I usually ask what the students strengths are and what they feel like they struggle with the most. Then I usually try to engage in those struggles with a lot of easier versions of math problems. I will then build up to the challenging problems. I also like the student to explain to me how to do the math problems so that I can see that they truely understand the math process.
I am about to graduate from Willamette Univesity this may 2020. I have taken many math classes there through multi-variable calculus. I also tutor at a program for 8th-12th graders for whatever math help they need.
I got started teaching when my friends would ask me for help in their math classes. I realized that I really enjoy helping people in this subject.
I have worked with students from the grades 3rd through college age.
