About this tutor

I have extensive experience working with students from disadvantaged backgrounds from K-12 and beyond. I have experienced a peer-to-peer crisis interventionist on a national teen crisis line and also did anti-bullying work at middle and high school levels. I am passionate about mental health, psychology, neuroscience, and the broader social sciences.

I really like seeing the "ah-ha" moment for students. This gives me so much joy.

Caleb is a pretty amazing tutor because not only does he know his stuff, but he's incredibly kind and understanding. He is able to explain things in ways that make sense to each person individually and he understands that everyone's brain is different, requiring different methods of tutoring.

Caleb works well with your skill level and appropriately challenges you. He is patient, smart, and really listens to what you are struggling with. I was nervous at first with it being online but it’s been amazing and I am learning a lot! 10/10 would recommend! You will not be disappointed.

Caleb strived to find ways to help me learn psychology. I am a visual learner and he found strategies to help me greatly improve both my understanding of the material and my grade. He was patient, understanding, and determined to help me learn the necessary material. I was very satisfied with my tutoring sessions with Caleb.

Great at breaking things down so you can understand. He is a natural coach and makes you feel like you can do the work no matter how hard.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I am super open-minded and flexible to work with people from different backgrounds and tailor my approach to their individual style of learning. I am not a one-approach fit all kind of person. I like getting to know people, learn what they are passionate about, and make the experience more than just about "tutoring." I am all for good grades, but want them to really understand the concepts in principle and in application "life."

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I worked as a psychology tutor in college for other college students as well as during high school for other high school students. I also worked in a Brain & Cognition Lab and I have presented my work at the American Psychological Association and Western Psychological Association.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Yes! I charge 30$/hour and I generally do either once or twice a week sessions online through skype or zoom. Monthly invoice conveniently paid through PayPal (no account needed).
