Hello! My name is Kasey and I am certified to teach grades PK-8, multiple subjects. I graduated with my Master of Arts in Teaching from Concordia University in 2012. I have been teaching for about 9 years and I currently teach 3rd grade at a private school in Portland.
I love getting to know my students, building a relationship with them, finding their strengths and areas that they need to work on, and trying to have as much fun while learning as much as possible. I loved school and learning while growing up and I hope to share that love with my students.
I love getting to know my students. I love seeing them get excited about what they're learning about and when they have that "a-ha!" moment.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to get to know the student, first and foremost. I pride myself on building relationships with my students and find that the whole process becomes easier. Then I like to find out what the student's strengths are and what areas they would like to focus on.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
- Certified K-8 self-contained teacher. I have been teaching for 9 years and have taught grades 2, 3, and 5, but have subbed from PK-6.
- I also teach Chinese kids English online through VIPKID.
- I am GLAD trained and currently in the process of receiving my ESOL endorsement.
