I have been babysitting, nannying, and tutoring for nearly 5 years. I have experience with infants through middle school and can tutor at a standard high school level. I also have my pediatric and infant first aid and CPR certificate and have passed a background check from the Oregon department of education in the last 18 months. I also attended online high school and as such am familiar with virtual learning.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I would like to know what we are going over in advance to prepare any materials or resources I feel would help the student learn the material, and I would also like to talk to the student for a bit before we start learning so they feel comfortable with me and so I can help relate the material to things they are interested in.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I understand that this is a difficult time for everyone right now and am flexible with my rates, averaging around $15 an hour
How did you get started teaching?
Honestly, I started by teaching my younger brother the material I was learning so I could understand it better myself as a child.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone who understands the material, but more importantly someone who is willing to work with you on how you learn best. It's easier to learn from someone who cares about you than someone who is so involved in their subject that they won't listen to why you have difficulty.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
How do you learn best, and what type of help you are looking for. Do you want to pass the test, or do you want to learn the material?
