Hi, I am a retired engineer who enjoys working with people who want to learn. I have been tutoring for 3+ years focusing on algebra, geometry, and statistics. My approach is to guide the student through the work and fill in with explanations and demonstrations of how to do the task at hand.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to start with understanding the student's background and goals with tutoring ... this includes the parents' goals as well. I try to get to know the student first then get into the work. I really want to have some communication with the student so he/she can tell me honestly if things are working or not as we progress
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a math degree and engineering degree. I have worked in technical roles all my career and have worked with statistics and taught some statistics during my career. At my church I taught 2nd graders in religious-ed for 10 years. Additionally, I have volunteered to work with adult students and grade school students at various times in my career as well.
