Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The typical process for working with a new student includes a free 20-30 minute initial meeting with the student and a parent/guardian. During this meeting we will review areas of concern and materials and most importantly, get to know one another. If we move forward with tutoring services, we will meet at an agreed location, I find local libraries are most conducive to effective tutoring. I ask that I be provided with materials that the student finds challenging and needs help. I also have my own materials that I have found effective.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from John Carroll University, have completed the coursework for Mild to Moderate Intervention Specialist through Notre Dame College and I have passed the Ohio licensing examinations for General Education Teaching K-12 and Mild to Moderate Intervention Specialist.
