I've tutored over 600 hours for many different clients.
I enjoy helping people achieve their potential; I find explaining things to them in a way they can understand goes a long way.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It depends on the subject. My approach is different for something like AP Calculus and SAT math. This is because the exams measure different things in different ways.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've tutored for the Mathematics & Economics departments at my college. I also took a class on how to tutor at my college. I've been teaching for 4 years, totalling over 300 hours.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
It depends upon the subject & if I have to travel to visit the client. Generally, I charge $70-$100 per hour, but I am open to negociations.
How did you get started teaching?
I started as a chess tutor. From there I moved on to SAT and ACT math tutoring and then on to select AP topics.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with many students aging from middle schoolers to middle aged adults.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone who seems to explain things in a clear way that you can understand. There are many people who are brilliant, but not the best at teaching.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What am I not understanding about this subject? What am I understanding? It really helps the tutor know what to work on with the student.
