About

I am a tutor made by my students, and my primary goal is to help others succeed in the way I have. I work at all hours with students, and I never say no if anyone needs extra help. I know the current curriculum going on in schools, as I have been out of high school and in college for only a few years while also tutoring siblings at home in different grade levels. I am great with students of all ages, and I give personalized attention and care to everyone who works with me, even in groups!

The satisfaction of helping others is something I love. I have always been one to help, and tutoring is just one of the many ways that I go out of my way to help others. Just seeing someone understand a concept that was once difficult or foreign for them is a gratifying experience for all involved, and that is what I want to do for everyone I can.

Frequently asked questions

My first step when working with a new student is establishing a rapport and understanding what needs the student needs filled. Every student is unique, and everyone has their own set of strengths and a few weaknesses that need to be worked on. Once learning more about the way the student prefers to learn and what they need to go over, both the student and I will be able to work effectively to move forward and work together. Occasionally I will give a diagnostic exam to see where the student stands, and this will also let us see what needs to be worked on.

I am a fourth year undergraduate student in the CUNY - Brooklyn College Coordinated BA/MD program, which is an 8 year, direct medical program. Although I am to ultimately end up in medicine, I have many varied interests, leading me to pursue a double major (B.A. in Economics and B.A. in Political Science - International Relations)! I attended Yonkers International Baccalaureate High School and graduated in June of 2016 as the Salutatorian with the IB Diploma, giving me experience in both the rigors of AP and IB. I have tutored since high school, and have worked for various organizations that help students, sparking my own passion.

Pricing is dependent primarily on the conditions and situations of the students, and I am willing to work with all students. However, I do have a tier system based on subject difficulty that I use to determine price ranges. Tiers work from lowest in difficulty and price to highest.

Even though I am young, I have a true passion to help others learn the same way I do! I have been tutoring for as long as I can remember, and I can connect with preschoolers learning to read for the first time as well as senior citizens learning to code, and everyone in between! I am a pretty good student, and I try to help students in whatever subjects I can, even if it means going out of my comfort zone a bit, which is already broad to begin with.

I have worked with all types of students. My youngest client was a 3 year old who was learning arithmetic, while my oldest client was 88 who needed technology help and setting up a brand new computer. I have worked with students who are on the autism spectrum, students who have ADD/ADHD, and others who have slight learning issues. I try my very best to help everyone in any and every way I can, and cooperation with the parents leads to increased success for the students.

I recently went away to a family reunion, which was amazing! The oldest to the youngest members of the family came together from all over the country and we enjoyed a few days together! There was a lot of food, a lot of games, and just good times for those days, and I can not wait for the next one!

Students should look into the qualifications of the teacher, but also make sure to understand the personality of the tutor. Its human nature to not be compatible with everyone, but the goal for the student should be to find a tutor who is compatible with him or her. Talk to the teacher about the subject and also about themselves, and hopefully, there will be a connection!

Students should always be open with their teachers and tutors. Tutoring is the place where tricky concepts are handled and unsure concepts are made concrete. It is important that students ask multiple times if they don't understand, and in various ways to make sure they understand the concept. If the teacher is going too fast, ask them to slow down and if they are not accomodating of your learning needs, ask them to change their teaching style. We are always here to help you succeed!
