I am an independent tutor, simply working to help students be their best selves. I am an elementary school Special Education teacher and have experience in all sorts of classroom settings. I have experience tutoring in math, reading, writing, and science in grades K through 8.
I am a certified teacher in both Childhood and Special Education as well as Reading and Literacy Birth through grade 12. I have received both my Bachelor's and Master's degree through SUNY Geneseo.
Education is and always has been a pasison of mine so extending my services beyond the classroom setting is something I love to do.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically spend the first session playing educational games and getting to know the individual as much as possible. Building a rapport is important in order to create a positive relationship and foster learning.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree in education from SUNY Geneseo as well as certifications in Childhood and Special Education as well as Reading and Literacy birth through Grade 12.

My hourly rate is $40/hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I was in high school. I participated in a theater company which included students as young as 5 and I had the opportunity to be theur group leader for my junior and senior years of high school. I fell in love wih the relationship building process and watching them learn and grow.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked in special education classrooms grades K-8 in the past five years. I pride myself on my ability to differentiate and individualize their education in a way that works for their unique learning needs.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently spent time in camping in Maine and hiking in the Green Monutains in Vermont with my wife. I absolutely love traveling!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would recommend finding a teacher who is willing to truly get to know the student as an individual and not solely based on their learning needs!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should identify what some things are that they would like to see in their teacher. This could include personality traits, teaching expertise, teaching style, etc.
